You can enjoy the breakfast buffet in your hotel early in the morning and then proceed towards exploring the valley. With its strategic location as the meeting point of several ancient Asian civilizations, the Kathmandu Valley is home to seven UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
This led to the valley becoming the location of various temples, monuments, and pilgrimage sites that are important to the Buddhist and Hindu religions. You can easily book a ride using travel apps like Pathao, and Tootle to travel across the city. The sightseeing can be carried out in the following order:
Swayambhunath Temple
Situated on a hill in the Kathmandu Valley, this historic architectural wonder is one of the most popular tourist locations in Kathmandu. It has a well-stocked library, a museum, a monastery, a large stupa, and several temples
The eyes and eyebrows of the Buddha painted on the temples are a sight to behold in and of themselves. The number 1 is painted in the local alphabet as the nose of the lord.
Patan Durbar Square
The calming tour of Swayambhunath Temple, popularly referred to as the Monkey Temple, is followed by a visit to Patan Durbar Square, which is distinguished by its exquisite architecture. This place is one of Newar’s historical treasures. From the red brick and tiled square floor, glimpses of the Newari traditional can be encountered.
There are a lot of temples in the area that assist their devotees in connecting with the almighty. One of the most well-known attractions in this region is the historic royal palace, which was once home to the Malla Kings.
Pashupatinath
Hinduism is the most common religion in Nepal. With several well-known sites, including the Pashupatinath Temple, the country has acknowledged and valued this religion. One of the most visited tourist spots in Kathmandu, the holy place is considered to be one of the most important temples on earth.
The head of this body is the Jyotirlinga in Nepal, and there are twelve in India. There are also 275 sacred Shiva abodes in the temple. You can rid yourself of all negative energy by going to this temple. The atmosphere that emanates from this hallowed building makes it feel like a stroll through heaven.
Boudhanath
Since the Stupa is thought to contain the remains of Kassapa Buddha, many traders and tourists have offered prayers to their lord there. It is without a doubt one of the best places to visit in Nepal and has a rich history.
The Boudhanath Stupa located in Kathmandu is one of the most significant sites in Buddhism and architecture. The stupa is surrounded by the aroma of incense, which gives believers a pleasant energy.
