Bardiya National Park Jungle Safari with Kathmandu Tour Overview

Bardia National Park, which spans 374 square miles, is Nepal’s largest and most protected national park. Another uncharted or undiscovered area is this national park. As a result, there is a smaller crowd than in other national parks.

In addition to bird-watching activities and safari expeditions, the wildlife travel package gives a good chance of catching a glimpse of the endangered tiger. The park is renowned for its diverse and abundant vegetation and animals. The sheer number of species in the park will astound nature enthusiasts.

During this tour, you will visit the Tharu Museum and examine the various artifacts kept there. Some of the most frequent creatures you may see are wild elephants, crocodiles, dolphins, royal Bengal tigers, one-horned rhinoceroses, monkeys, and other reptiles.

The Kathmandu Day Tour includes visits to the well-known UNESCO World Heritage Cultural Sites in the Kathmandu Valley. This city trip will take you on the most exciting journey imaginable, passing through famous historical sites throughout the world.

Places like Hanuman Dhoka Square offer a deeper look into the history of the area, and if you’d rather be in a more tranquil setting, the neighborhood is home to an incredible number of peaceful temples.

You will travel to one of the picturesque villages, Nagarkot, even though there are several places to explore, such as Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park, Champadevi, and Chandragiri. You may also take in the Kathmandu Valley’s major festivals if you plan your time and itinerary well.

Major Destinations Featured

Tharu Cultural Museum

The Tharu Cultural Museum is yet another well-liked destination for visitors to Bardia National Park. Various Tharu cultural exhibits, including ordinary clothes, utensils, and agricultural equipment, are housed inside the structure.

It includes handicrafts, jewelry, and traditional Tharu artwork. Within the museum, you will have the chance to interact closely with the traditional Tharu artifacts. Maps and sculptures show how Tharu kings were governed, providing important context for understanding their historical relevance.

Jungle Walk and Jeep Safari

You may enjoy wildlife encounters in the forest with a wildlife tracker and a jungle guide who will show you the secret life of the animals. A Jeep safari will allow you to explore the national park in greater depth.

It is a true experience where you will have to go through dense forests with monkeys playing in the trees and wade over rivers. In addition to seeing the many kinds of trees and the natural beauty and landscape, you may drive across the large region, stop the jeep, and stroll to the animal possibility area.

Elephant and Crocodile Breeding Center

The park headquarters include a crocodile breeding facility for Gharial and Marsh muggers to boost their population. You may visit the little elephant breeding centre in Bardiya either in the morning or after 4 p.m.

After being harmed by the storm, some of the centre’s elephants are taken in for protection, while others are utilised for patrols against poaching.

Durbar Squares

Most tourists are taken aback by how many temples surround the area. Along with other buildings, each Durbar Square has temples, sculptures, idols, open courts, and fountains. In fact, the pagodas, which have typical Newari woodwork carvings, some of which are 16th century, are the most striking features of the square.

In the past, the Malla Kings of Lalitpur lived in a regal palace located in the Patan Durbar plaza. Additionally, Patan is well-known for its craftspeople and traditional arts, particularly woodcarving and metalworking.

The area in front of the historic royal palace of the medieval Bhaktapur Kingdom is known as Bhaktapur Durbar. In modern-day Bhaktapur, one of the primary tourist destinations is the historic palace on Durbar Square.

Nagarkot visit

The tranquil hill station of Nagarkot is situated 32 kilometres to the east of the Kathmandu Valley. It is among the most picturesque locations in Nepal’s countryside. This trip blends magnificent architecture with tranquil natural beauty.

The Nagarkot excursion is well-known for its stunning vistas of the Himalayas at sunrise and sunset. By following the route through the community-reserved forest, one may experience the various flora and fauna of the hills and wildlife.

The Pashupatinath Temple

Pashupatinath is situated on the banks of the Bagmati River and was built in the pagoda architectural style. An important part of Nepal’s spiritual and cultural core is this magnificent temple complex.

You should glance at the temple’s appearance and the structures that surround it. Among the many temple designs it exhibits are the Shikhara, Pagoda, and Dome styles, among others.

The large territory of Pashupatinath includes water resources, forests, and cultural legacy, all of which must be maintained and conserved.

Best Time

You may take the Bardia National Park Tour at any time of the year. To get the most out of the journey, choosing the ideal season is essential. Any period of the year that is convenient for the individual might be selected.

Spring (March to May):

The best season to visit Nepal is in the spring, and Bardiya National Park is no different. This is the best time of year to see animals, particularly tigers. Animals can be observed wandering down the riverbank since it gets so hot.

The national park’s scenery is blanketed in lush foliage and the vibrant wonders of nature’s flowering season in the spring. The average temperature in Bardiya National Park is between 27 and 28 degrees Celsius since the springtime high is about 38 degrees Celsius and the low is approximately 30 degrees.

Summer/Monsoon (June to August):

Due to the extreme heat of the summer, travellers may contract a variety of summer-related ailments. One of the summer’s most notable features is the constant rain. Rainfall might begin at that same time, the sun could be blazing, and you won’t even have any indicators.

The quantity of time and chance to observe the flora and animals is diminished during this rainy season. The likelihood of landslides and flooding increases as paths become muddy.

Fall/Autumn (September to November):

The greatest time to enjoy the Terai region’s nice climate is in the autumn. It’s comfortable and cooler throughout the day and at night. The main attraction of autumn, aside from the thrilling temptations of the season, is the joyous atmosphere.

Around this time, the temperature ranges from 16 degrees Celsius to 30 degrees Celsius. There are cheetahs, crocodiles, snakes, deer, rhinos, elephants, and more. It is the ideal season for boating, elephant watching, and forest safaris.

Winter (December to February):

There are fogs everywhere in the winter, which makes it harder to see animals. However, several bird species, such as the white-rumped vulture, peafowl, and Bengal florican, only migrate to the national park in the winter.

It is difficult to see animals from a distance, even if they do venture out to roam. The park nevertheless provides a unique experience, even though chances of seeing animals may be a little lower than at the busiest time of year.

During the winter, Bardiya National Park experiences a low temperature of 2 to 4 degrees Celsius and a high temperature of around 25 degrees Celsius.
