Best Time for Annapurna Base Camp Trek

There is no best time to visit Annapurna Base Camp, but there are certain times that are considered to be a good time to go trekking for this place. Thus, the time is fundamentally best for trekking to the base camp of Annapurna in the early autumn and in the spring.

Autumn season is the peak season for Annapurna Base Camp trekking for tourists. Likewise, in spring, people travel to the area in large numbers from all corners of the world to trek.

The other least favorable months for trekking are during winter, which is between December, January, and February. However, winter clothes are definitely needed, and occasionally one can expect snow. The most important advantage of trekking during the period of winter is that the trail is free from a large number of trekkers and the experience is relatively quieter.

June to August is the monsoon season, which is the worst time to trek to this place due to many reasons. The trails are muddy and slippery, and there is a high risk of landslides while on the slopes. It is inappropriate to walk in the rainy season, and the weather is cloudy. It is rainy and cold, so it cannot be considered the proper trekking season in order to reach base camp.

One will have to agree with discussions pointing to spring and autumn as the most suitable seasons to trek to ABC. However, if you wish and are better prepared, you can trek during the winter seasons too. Trekking can only be done in limited regions, and if it is essential, then it is preferable to trek in either the spring or autumn season to get the best result from trekking.

Annapurna Base Camp Trek Difficulty

The Annapurna Base Camp trek will not be hard for one to consider it less challenging, though at some points it could be considered moderate. Of course, each of the trekkers understands what they face, and with good health and determination, one overrides the challenges. Go through the dos and don’ts of the Annapurna Base Camp trek difficulty and options for overcoming the challenges.

As with most treks in Nepal—or any trek that covers routes such as the Annapurna Circuit trek—the trek might be challenging. Nevertheless, after preparing physically and mentally, it is also possible and interesting.

The Annapurna base camp is another trekkers’ destination closely following the Everest base camp trek; it is located at 4130 m/13550 ft. This trek is not only for newcomers but is also enjoyed by returning trekkers as well. Likewise, both the trekkers who are going by individual and groups can trek this region.

It is truly quite tiresome, passing endless numbers of stone staircases and equally long, tiring walks, though this trek is not as strenuous as most of the treks in Nepal. Therefore, to get to travel in Nepal and reach the mountainous area is also an experience of adventure and fun.
