Major Attractions

UNESCO World Heritage Sightseeing

In Kathmandu, you may take a one-day tour of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites to see the most significant historical and cultural sites in Nepal. The Kathmandu Valley consists of the three ancient cities of Patan, Bhaktapur, and Kathmandu.

Pashupatinath Temple is one of Nepal’s most sacred Hindu temples. Although the actual era of the temple’s construction is uncertain, it is said to have existed since the dawn of Hinduism. Foreigners are not allowed in the main temple courtyard, and the temple’s exterior and roof are coated with gold and silver.

It is acknowledged that Boudhanath is among the biggest Buddha stupas in the world. Bouddhanath is home to almost three dozen monasteries and has retained several Tibetan Buddhist sects.

On top of the hillside, Swyambhunath Stupa is easily accessible by ascending well-paved stairs. Travellers and pilgrims from all over the world are welcome at this well-known tourist destination. The four sides of the painted eyes stand in for the Buddha’s all-seeing, all-knowing eyes.

The ideal location to discover the rich and varied Newari art and architecture is Kathmandu Durbar Square. It is surrounded by the courtyards of Mohan Chok and Sundari Chok, fountains, small ponds, and old statues. For Nepalis, the entire region has mystical importance, and the living goddess KUMARI lives here.

In the centre of Lalitpur City, Patan Durbar Square is a UNESCO World Heritage Site that is well-known for its breathtaking Newa architecture. The splendour of Patan, which is home to many temples, stupas, and monasteries, draws thousands of tourists each year.

As a living museum, Bhaktapur Durbar Square gives tourists an insight into Nepal’s rich cultural legacy and centuries-old architectural masterpieces. One of the most impressive pieces of architecture in this region is the palace with its 55 windows. The exquisite ceramics and wood sculptures of this World Heritage site are well known.

Pokhara

Pokhara, a charming city in central Nepal, is frequently referred to as the entry point to the Annapurna area. One of Pokhara’s most recognizable features is Phewa Lake, which, with its serene waters, reflects the magnificent Annapurna range.

Here, one may visit the island temple in the centre of the sea or sail or paddle a rented boat across it. Located on a little island in the centre of Phewa Lake, the Tal Barahi Temple is another place where you may have a spiritual experience.

Standing 1,100 meters tall atop Anadu Hill, the World Peace Pagoda is a representation of tranquillity, harmony, and peace with a view of the stunning Phewa Lake. Four Buddha sculptures that depict the four events in the Buddha’s life may be found at the World Peace Pagoda.

One of Pokhara’s natural treasures is Mahendra Gupha. Locals refer to this large limestone cave as the House of Bats. Another excellent addition to the Pokhara tourism hotspot is Pumdikot View Point. It is the tallest Shiva statue in Nepal, standing at 108 feet.

The International Mountain Museum is a fantastic complement to any itinerary while visiting Pokhara. You may learn about the history, geology, flora, and wildlife of many Himalayan regions at this museum.

Observe the sunrise from the viewpoint of Sarangkot

With sweeping views of the Himalayas, the 1600-meter-high Sarangkot viewpoint is perched on a hillside ridge. This location offers you a unique experience as the sun shines its first rays on the snow-capped mountains.

You may enjoy unhindered, expansive views of Annapurna II, the majestic Dhaulagiri, the triangular peak of Machhapuchhare, and Lamjung. From this vantage point, the enormous Fewa Lake likewise appears breathtaking.

The tranquil surroundings and abundant vegetation will alleviate all of your tensions. Sarangkot gives you the chance to fly above the lovely valley against a breathtaking backdrop. Fresh tea or coffee is served at several tea cafes and chai sellers close to the viewpoint.

Potala Palace

Potala Palace is referred to as the treasure home. From any angle in the city of Lhasa, one can observe its stunning Red Hill architecture in the Tibetan style. There are hundreds of artworks within this large castle, ranging from the wall paintings painted with natural dyes to the sculptures on the pillars.

The Dalai Lama V statue, which is housed in the West Chapel, is another must-see location. Additionally, the Dalai Lama XIII statue is kept at the Chapel of Dalai Lama XIII, which is located in the Red Palace’s left-hand edifice.

Drepung Monastery

Drepung Monastery is situated on the slopes of Gambo Utse Mountain, west of Lhasa, on the far side of the Lalu Wetlands, approximately 9 km from the Potala Palace. For those who enjoy early Tibetan Buddhist architecture, Drepung Monastery is a must-see location in Tibet.

Drepung was constructed around the caves of Jamyang Choge, the disciple who established the monastery and has a completely original layout.

At Kathmandu’s Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), you will obtain your visa and enter the land of hills and mountains. A representative from our organisation will greet you with warmth and take you to your Kathmandu hotel.

After a short stay at the hotel, you may explore Thamel, a bustling tourist destination in the Kathmandu Valley. Thamel provides a genuine introduction to Nepalese hospitality and culture. Thamel is the ideal location for souvenir shopping, local food sampling, or just taking in the lively environment.

You will start your tour of Kathmandu after breakfast. This implies that your day starts early. You first take an excursion to Patan in order to see the Patan Durbar Square structure and its works of art.

One of the most famous sites in the ancient city of Lalitpur is Patan Durbar Square, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The ‘City of Devotees,’ Bhaktapur, is the next destination you drive to.

Residents congregate at this UNESCO-listed location, which is the city’s centre, for celebrations, rituals, and cultural activities. Ancient artifacts and modern masterpieces are among the varied collection of artworks on display at the Bhaktapur National Art Gallery.

You will stop in Kathmandu Durbar Square, also called Basantapur and Hanuman Dhoka, if you have time. There, you will see the exquisite Taleju Temple, which is devoted to the living goddess Kumari Devi and the goddess Taleju Bhawani.

You make your way back to the hotel through the streets of  Thamel after spending the entire day touring Kathmandu’s historical and cultural sites.

A beautiful trip to Pokhara, a city surrounded by stunning scenery, begins this day. It can take up to seven hours to travel the little over 200 km by road between Kathmandu and Pokhara. The route may pass through stunning valleys, cascading rivers, and majestic, snow-capped summits.

The Manakamana Temple, Nepal’s notorious pilgrimage site, is also accessible along the route. It is situated atop a hill and offers a panoramic view of the Annapurna. You will check into the hotel and rest for a little while after arriving in Pokhara.

Later, you may take a boat ride on Phewa Lake and take a strolling tour of the lakeside market. In the middle of a bustling city, this serene freshwater lake offers a relaxing environment.

A Pokhara trip includes a visit to natural locations where you may see the Himalayas at dawn and dusk. Early in the morning is when your trip for today starts. Before starting your sightseeing tour, you will eat a wonderful buffet breakfast.

To see the dawn creating an unearthly spectacle for you, you will pave the way to Sarangkot hill station, which offers 360-degree unhindered views of the Himalayas drenched in golden light.

After that, you make your way to the International Mountain Museum to view some of the equipment used by the first expedition parties in the Nepal Himalayas. Your next destination will be Davi’s Falls.

For the adventure of a lifetime, you will go to the mysterious Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave, a hallowed Hindu pilgrimage site. It’s a great area to spend some quality time away from the typical bustling locations.

Located atop Ananda Hill, the Shanti Stupa is a Buddhist religious monument in the shape of a pagoda. You also visit the World Peace Pagoda, commonly known as Shanti Stupa. You shouldn’t pass up the chance to see Mahendra Gupha.

Along with the stunning scenery of little villages, verdant hillsides, and terraced fields, you journey to Chitwan early in the morning. The Chitwan National Park is located about 155 km from Pokhara on Nepal’s Western Terai. The roughly 155-kilometre trip offers a number of breathtaking sights along the way.

Lush woods, terraced farms, and the potential to catch a glimpse of the majestic peaks are all part of the always-shifting landscape. After reaching Chitwan, you settle into your lodging and unwind.

You may relax and take in the serene atmosphere of the park throughout the free evening. There will be a delectable supper and cultural entertainment.

In order to see animals like rhinos, deer, and perhaps even a Bengal tiger, you will venture farther into the park today. You will travel the Budi Rapti River after breakfast and then continue on to the elephant breeding centre, where female elephants are housed in preparation for breeding.

You will unwind and enjoy stunning sunset views along the riverbanks in the late afternoon. You attend a Tharu cultural event to round off your day, where the Tharu people will perform music and dance.

After breakfast, you will depart Chitwan and travel the Tribhuvan Highway back to Kathmandu. Along the twisting path you arrived along, it would be an upward voyage. Once in Kathmandu, you check into your accommodation and relax. You may shop for souvenirs in Thamel or independently visit the Ason Bazaar which is the local market.

You catch an early flight to Tibet’s spiritual centre, Lhasa. The flight takes only about two hours. The breathtaking Himalayan mountain range will astound you; mountains rising to a height of over 8,000 meters are just passing over you.

If you have the time, you might be able to see an interesting carpet factory or a small monastery close to Tsedang. Rest and adjust to the altitude while enjoying the distinctive Tibetan atmosphere when you first arrive in Lhasa. You will have a good night’s sleep in Lhasa and a restful evening.

A visit to the famous Potala Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the former home of the Dalai Lama, with its breathtaking architecture, is where you start your day. There are more than 1,000 chambers in this 13-story structure, along with many sculptures, stupas, paintings, and artifacts.

You will go to the Jokhang Temple, the hallowed site of Buddhist devotees and the spiritual centre of Tibetan Buddhism, after lunch. Barkhor Street, which runs beside the temple, is crowded with pilgrims and street sellers offering traditional Tibetan goods.

The day will begin with a hearty breakfast and a tour of Norbulingka Palace, the Dalai Lama’s summer residence. Old Buddha sculptures and a painting of the Fifth Dalai Lama are also present.

One of the biggest and most important monasteries in Tibet, the Drepung Monastery will be your next stop on your tour of Lhasa. In this university monastery, you may also learn more about the activities and lives of Tibetan monks.

You will visit the Sera Monastery in the afternoon, which is well-known for its animated discussions on Buddhist philosophy, which are still held in the courtyards of the monastery. This magnificent monastery was established in 1419 and housed five monastic colleges and over 5,000 monks.

After the journey, you will be dropped off at your hotel, where you may spend the remainder of the day as you choose.

You will be taken to the airport for your trip back to Kathmandu following breakfast and a final quick walk around the city. Your guide will meet you at the airport and drive you to your hotel, where you may rest for the remainder of the day.

The Nepal Tibet Tour comes to a close on the twelfth day. It’s time for your last trip home as your incredible journey through Tibet and Nepal draws to a close. The amount of time you have to do any last-minute duties will depend on your flight itinerary.

To ensure a seamless and trouble-free journey, a representative from your agency will transport you to Kathmandu’s Tribhuvan International Airport.

Best Time for this Tour

Combining a visit to Tibet with a tour of Nepal is a popular method for travellers to the Himalayas to explore both countries’ distinctive cultures. Since the weather has a significant impact on your travel experiences, choosing the ideal time to visit is one of your top priorities.

Since spring and fall provide the most pleasant weather, these seasons are unquestionably the ideal times to visit Nepal and Tibet. During these seasons, the weather is perfect for walking and exploring the natural environs, and the skies are largely clear.

It’s perfect to see the mountain vistas because there is less rainfall. Additionally, flowers bloom in the spring. Don’t pass up the opportunity to travel to Nepal during the fall, when there are many festivals, if you’re a cultural fan.
